Thanks to Everybody
We had a great time at our wedding and want to send out a great big Thank You to everyone who came especially those who were such a big help to us in making everything go so smoothly.
Lots of pics and goodies to get posted later on. Time to relax and be with ourselves.
DJs Rinse and Repeat
We are done with all other aspects of wedding planning and organizing. Now we can spend the rest of the week focusing on the ipod playlists. We are having a blast sifting through our amazing music collection. Looks like we are going to have to extend the wedding out another week because we have too much music to share. Five hours just ain’t gonna cut it. We’re getting very excited for this party!
iPod Mixer
After looking around at lots of ways to do our iPod DJ stuff for our wedding we went downtown and picked up a Gemini iTrax so that we can switch between music lists and control the music a little more.
We also setup our PA in the backyard to figure out if we had enough power for the music and a microphone. Looks like we are all set. Its plenty loud enough.
Almost there!
Well, it’s officially the week of the wedding. Relatives have started arriving and everything is coming together nicely. I was stressed out last week but I think I’m over the worst of it. All that’s left is the playlist really. So close! Can’t wait to see you all!
Strangers - Kinks
Kinks Strangers
Where are you going I don’t mind
I’ve killed my world and I’ve killed my time
So where do I go what do I see
I see many people coming after me
So where are you going to I don’t mind
If I live too long I’m afraid I’ll die
So I will follow you wherever you go
If your offered hand is still open to me
Strangers on this road we are on
We are not two we are one
So you’ve been where I’ve just come
From the land that brings losers on
So we will share this road we walk
And mind our mouths and beware our talk
‘Till peace we find tell you what I’ll do
All the things I own I will share with you
If I feel tomorrow like I feel today
We’ll take what we want and give the rest away
Strangers on this road we are on
We are not two we are one
Holy man and holy priest
This love of life makes me weak at my knees
And when we get there make your play
‘Cos soon I feel you’re gonna carry us away
In a promised lie you made us believe
For many men there is so much grief
And my mind is proud but it aches with rage
And if I live too long I’m afraid I’ll die
Strangers on this road we are on
We are not two we are one
Strangers on this road we are on
We are not two we are one
Art of Marriage
The little things are the big things.
It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say “I love you” at least once a day.
It is never going to sleep angry.
It is at no time taking the other for granted;
the courtship should not end with the honeymoon,
it should continue through all the years.
It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives.
It is standing together facing the world.
It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.
It is doing things for each other, not in the attitude
of duty or sacrifice,
but in the spirit of joy.
It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating
gratitude in thoughtful ways.
It is not expecting the husband to wear a halo or the wife to have wings of an
angel.
It is not looking for perfection in each other.
It is cultivating flexibility, patience, understanding and a
sense of humor.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It is giving each other an atmosphere in
which each can grow.
It is finding room for the things of the spirit.
It is a common search for the good and
the beautiful.
It is establishing a relationship in which the independence is equal, dependence is mutual and
the obligation is reciprocal.
It is not only marrying the right partner,
it is being the right partner.
marriage in french
Le mariage doit être une éducation mutuelle et infinie.
Henri Frédéric AMIEL, Journal intime (éd. Pierre Cailler), 31 mai 1848
Marriage should be mutually and infinitely educational.
